Decimal-Sexagesimal-Converter
Instrument: Wndsn NATO-MIL Telemeter
The sine and cosine scales on the edge of the Quadrant are sexagesimal, that is, they go up to sixty, like minutes in an hour, or in a degree, etc. On the inside, these scales have additional markings for every sixth value [not all models], creating a decimal-sexagesimal converter. It is useful for general time and navigation calculations between decimal and sexagesimal systems.
Examples
- Time measurement: 0.7 hours = 42 minutes
